La Kalenda Resort Description:
At five stories, this is one of the tallest buildings in the area. It claims to stand on one of the best beaches on Guadeloupe on 60 hectares (148 acres) of land at the most easterly tip of the island, a 10-minute walk from the village of St-Francois.
This is said to be a competent workhorse of a hotel, La Kalenda Resorts Staff claim the hotel was originally conceived as one of Air France's Meridien Hotels, it was bought in 2002 by a group of local investors, who immediately scheduled an overhaul and renovation of its bedrooms.
The medium-size units are said to be furnished comfortably and most contain twin beds. Each contains a small bathroom with a shower-tub combination and claims to overlook either the sea or a Robert Trent Jones Sr.-designed golf course.
La Kalenda Resort Restaurants:
The more formal restaurant is said to be La Casa Zomar, guests and visitors have said the restaurant is well known for serving Continental and upscale Creole food. At lunch casual Le Balaou serves burgers, salads, and sandwiches to guests and visitors of the resort.
